Greetings,

I always had my eyes set on creating spaces. From early childhood — All signs pointed towards the fact, that I would, indeed, grow up to find this path.

  • At first, my father managed an Appliance Store in NWA, which I still remember a car driving through. (I’ll share that story another time). Though, he truly dedicated his career to Managing Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores for over 20 years. In his “free time”, he would take me along to tour investment homes, letting me play realtor — a child’s dream!

  • My Grandma & Grandpa ran Antique Booths & a successful Photography Business until I was a pre-teen — In which we spent many days helping to create propped & staged magazine setups. My grandma is always creating. They set the stage for my antiquing passion, searching for nostalgic pieces that remind us of home — wherever that feeling has been.

  • My Mimi & Papa spent hours playing HGTV with me — while I took their “House Hunting” goals, sketched numerous plans for them, laid out their budget, and presented my documentation. My favorite hobby was scrolling the isles of Best Buy with them for the latest Home Rendering CD or House Plan Books. — ALL by age of 10.

My father’s job was a blessing in many ways.

Though— It also meant we had to move around a lot. Including 6 different schools from Kindergarten to High School.

Another blessing in disguise, as I genuinely grew up living all throughout the Ozarks.

From my small town roots in Seneca, Missouri — to elementary school in Ozark — off to Mountain Home, Arkansas — a stop back in Seneca — and then off to spend my High School years in Osage Beach, known as Lake of the Ozarks, I was no stranger to experiencing moving… to new towns specifically.

This lifestyle established my communication skills, helping me learn how to make connections with all walks of life, while gifting me the deep understanding of family-centered living, down-home appreciation, and the land preservation that makes the Ozarks special.

Post high-school, my family moved back to the Joplin area, so I packed my bags yet again, moved out on my own to Springfield, Missouri, and committed to going all in pursuing Residential Design. I attended Missouri State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship, while working for Thomasville Homes — A Design & Build Firm local to Joplin, Missouri.

I started by working their books. Tom was a strong mentor, and I worked my way up — He ensured I learn the cores of running a business. Then came the lessons, hours, and field expertise to understand cost estimation, constructing building sets, designing homes, selecting materials from vendors, learning market considerations, and managing construction projects.

Late nights were and are still spent to learn and grow in countless softwares — From Chief Architect, D5 Render, Morpholio Trace, Canva, AI developments, etc.

Allowing me to bring 3D Models, Building Sets, and Virtual Renderings to you today.

Following College, I worked with Thomasville Homes full-time as their Design Manager.

In September 2025, Tom encouraged HOM to finally take flight — my own design firm.

That’s how House of Mad’s took place and a year later, that’s where we stand today. After 5 years in the industry, I have personally curated a design process for our clients in designing custom homes, selecting materials, and leading project organization.

We live our dream — Faithfully serving our clients ranging from homeowners to builders to designers and everything in between. We advocate for our clients leading them out of overwhelm & into confidence before building their home. We handle the floor plan development, creating building documents, selecting materials, providing realistic and accurate 3D models, guiding you to solid resources during your build, and helping to manage design decisions.

All Glory To God. We have prayed for each and every one of our clients, mentors, team members, and unexplained contacts we meet in the field. Faithfully serving you, has truly been a blessing Jesus Christ provides to me.Thank you for choosing us.

Our firm foundation is rooted in Christ, and our mission is stewarding our knowledge, work, and talents to benefit others lives.

Today, we are still continuing to educate ourselves (and most likely forever will) — I, Maddie, am personally studying under a Residential Architect in Tulsa, OK, while heavily focusing on new construction and remodel clients, and undergoing Missouri real estate courses to expand our resources for future & re-occurring clients.

Our team has been up to incredible things as well — Matt has started a brokerage to better assist clients in finding land, and is expanding his Client Builder Connection Program, while focusing on New Construction and Remodel client projects.

While I have personally settled into Springfield, Missouri — we have continued to service the Ozarks I have grown up in. From Arkansas, Southwest Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Tennessee, we have proudly served our clients in designing spaces that reflect their story.

I couldn’t do it without my Faith in Christ when the highs are high & lows are low. Or my families endless support — you’ve never met bigger HOM fans than my mother, my sister, Chlo, and my best friend, Lo. And a phenomenal partner, Christian, who pushes me to “Always chase that little girl’s vision.”

With that — We work hard on the planning, so you eliminate risk of decision fatigue, building burnout, or unsure commitments.

Through that, we are are fulfilling our dreams of growing the HOM Team and leading homeowners to finally take a deep breathe & say— “honey, I’m home”

I tell you this, because it is my story.

And I want to know yours too.

Mads
